I have worked and volunteered in the co-operative sector for the past 37 years. I co-founded the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto in the fall of 1973. I was Executive Director of the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada beginning March 1986 followed by consulting in the co-op housing sector. I served as the President of the Canadian Worker Co-operative Federation for 13 years ending in 2007. I was a Board member of the Canadian Co-operative Association (CCA) for eight years (1999-2007). I am currently helping to deliver the federally funded Co-operative Development Initiative managed by CCA and its sister national francophone association. This program helps new and emerging co-ops. I believe in the benefits of the co-op model and its potential to bring a fresh face to the funeral sector in Ottawa. |
