Marge’s educational background is in the Health Science, Nursing field.
She later gained experience in sales and marketing and managing a successful service business in Ottawa, before moving to Saskatoon in 1991.
While in Saskatoon she worked as Family Counselor in the Funeral Industry for 5 years where some of her duties included working with families pre-planning and at need funerals as well providing aftercare
Marge’s charitable and volunteer work over the past 20 years has been with people with developmental disabilities. It has included co-founding a charity called Trinity Homes, in Saskatoon and project management of construction of a home for individuals with developmental disabilities, coordinating fundraising and planning operation of the home.
Since returning to Ottawa in 2003, Marge has been instrumental in founding Families Matter Cooperative (FMC), working to empower families and people with developmental disabilities, creating employment and housing opportunities. One of the housing opportunities includes the partnerships with the McLean Housing Coop Project
Marge has been the Executive Director for the past 3 years.
